Recognizing that strong non-profits build strong communities, each year the Philadelphia Eagles select three local non-profits for a yearlong partnership through their Eagles Care initiative.

Fred’s Footsteps is thrilled to join Women Against Abuse and Food Moxie as 2019/2020 partners.

The season-long strategic partnership will enable Fred’s Footsteps to leverage the Eagles attention, support, and resources to increase our impact in the community.

April 24 - 26, 2020

As a member of the Eagles Care Network, we received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to invite several of our Fred’s Footsteps families and volunteers to participate in the 2020 NFL Draft. Participants joined Zoom meetings where they had the opportunity to virtually meet players the team selected for the 2020 Draft. Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro hosted the Q&A sessions with Eagles picks on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of draft weekend. Families were able to welcome the players to Philadelphia and ask select questions.

Fred's Footsteps Families Attend Playoff Game

Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Philadelphia Eagles, several of our Fred’s Footsteps families were invited to attend the playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Lincoln Financial Field. The seats were amazing, and the families were thrilled to be at the game. One family sent us this photo with the caption, “Forward progress. One step at a time, just like our kiddos!”

Through a connection made as a result of our Eagle Care partnership, we are thrilled to announce that Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Malik Jackson has made a $100,000 gift to support Fred’s Footsteps families. This gift is one of the largest gifts by an individual to the organization since its founding 15 years ago.

The father of two young children, Jackson was looking to make a significant impact on families in the Philadelphia community – particularly those who need extra support during the holiday season. A portion of Jackson’s contribution will be used to meet the immediate needs of 14 Fred’s Footsteps families in December 2019, covering non-medical costs such as rent, mortgage, utilities, insurance and more; and, the remainder of the $100,000 will be used for families in 2020.

We were thrilled to have Swoop and the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders join us for the 15th Annual Golf Fun Day at Philadelphia Country Club and Gulph Mills Golf Club. The Cheerleaders assisted with our shotgun start at both clubs, and Swoop joined Coach Dick Vermeil for our Live Auction in the evening. With support from the Philadelphia Eagles, this year’s Golf Fun Day broke all records and raised $500,000 to support families in the region who are caring for medically fragile children.
