Fred’s Footsteps Mourns the Loss of Board Member Jerry Segal

Jerry Segal was a longtime member of the Fred’s Footsteps Board of Directors and served on the Board for 14 years until his passing on June 28, 2020 at the age of 79.

“We are saddened by the death of Jerry Segal,” said Sylvia DiBona, Fred’s Footsteps Board Chair. “He overcame incredible odds during his lifetime and was an inspiration to many. He was a dear friend of our family’s and of Fred’s Footsteps, and he will be sorely missed.”

“Jerry leaves a legacy of incredible legal acumen, and a passion for excellence recognized by the entire community,” said Christine DiBona Lobley, Executive Director of Fred’s Footsteps. “He worked tirelessly on behalf of disabled individuals. Closest to his heart was his passion for the work of Magee Rehabilitation Center where he was a patient far too many times over the past 30 years. We feel honored that he also joined Fred’s Footsteps in our work supporting the families of medically fragile children in the Philadelphia region. He offered a wise, discerning perspective and steady friendship to Fred’s Footsteps. Our thoughts are with his wife of 57 years, Carolyn and family during this time.”
