While this year saw the opening back up of the country, for many of the families in our program, their world remains closed and complicated. In our daily work helping deserving families in the Philadelphia region struggling with a child’s medical crisis, one thing is very evident: These families need us now more than ever.

Thanks to your support, Fred’s Footsteps was able to accept more families into our year-long, core program than in any other year in our sixteen year history!

What does that mean?

• 77 families were able to stay in their homes thanks to Fred’s Footsteps covering mortgage and rent.

• 8 families were able to make home accommodations to ensure their child could remain there safely.

• 32 families received help getting around- from car payments, to handicap-accessible vans, to specialty wheelchairs and adaptive tricycles.

This year, our Fred’s Footsteps community supported 103 families so that their child’s care could be their only worry. 103 Families joined our family and all that that entails: tailored support to meet each family’s specific needs; aid that makes an actual difference in their most desperate time.

And the need just continues to grow as the effects of the pandemic ripple on. This year taught us that families are still struggling and we need to be prepared. Your continued support will allow us to continue this tailored, meaningful, life-changing work into 2022.
