2025 marks a somber milestone in the DiBona family and the Fred’s Footsteps organization. January 11, 2025, is 20 years since the passing of G. Fred DiBona Jr., beloved husband and father, and CEO of Independence Blue Cross. As the organization created in his memory, Fred’s Footsteps meets this milestone with appreciation for the impact we’ve been able to make in his name, and reverence for the man behind the mission. These have been some mighty shoes to fill, but we continue to walk proudly in his footsteps.

His daughter, and Fred’s Footsteps Executive Director, Christine DiBona Lobley, shares her thoughts on this anniversary as well as a call to action for the community to rally their support – and memories – around our 20th anniversary milestone.
