ABOUT FRED’S FOOTSTEPS

Fred’s Footsteps was created in 2005 in memory of Fred DiBona, Jr., who was President and CEO of Independence Blue Cross and a leading force among Philadelphia’s business executives for more than three decades. The organization provides financial assistance to families in the Philadelphia area who find themselves in a financial crisis when a child is seriously ill, injured or disabled. Recognizing that caring for their children is the top priority, Fred’s Footsteps identifies how to help hard-working families stay afloat during a difficult time. Funding has been used to offset a loss of wages, due to caring for a child, to pay household bills or to add home renovations or medical equipment needed for the child.
